Skipping an Event in Copilot CRM

Updated over 2 months ago

Overview

The Skip function in Copilot CRM lets you skip an individual visit or event without canceling or affecting the rest of its recurring schedule. This is especially useful for recurring jobs like weekly services that occasionally need to be skipped due to weather, customer requests, or other temporary reasons.

What Happens When You Skip an Event

When you skip a visit, only that single occurrence is skipped.

The rest of the recurring series remains unaffected.

Example:
If a customer’s weekly mowing is skipped for one week, the next week’s service will still appear on the schedule as planned.

Where You Can Skip Events

You can skip visits or events from either of these locations:

  • Schedule Page – Ideal for field teams managing day-to-day work.

  • Dispatch Board – Preferred for office staff overseeing team schedules.

Both pages include the Skip option, so you can choose the workflow that fits your role.

Step 1: Find the Visit to Skip

  1. Go to either Team > Schedule or Dispatch Board.

  2. Use the available filters to locate the specific visit or event you want to skip.

  3. Once you’ve found the job, click to open its details page.

Step 2: Skip the Visit

  1. Scroll to the bottom of the visit’s information page.

  2. Click the Skip button.

  3. A popup will appear asking for a reason for skipping the visit.

  4. Enter your reason (optional but recommended) and confirm.

Once confirmed, the system will mark that visit as Skipped while keeping the rest of the recurring series intact.

Tip

Use the Skip function instead of deleting visits whenever you want to retain accurate service history. This allows you to record why a visit didn’t occur without disrupting your recurring schedule or losing valuable tracking data.
