How does the connection work?
Three things work together behind the scenes:
The Homeworks API
The underlying connection — a secure channel that lets authorized tools read and write your Homeworks data. Your customers, jobs, estimates, invoices, and time entries can flow in and out without you logging in manually.

Homeworks MCP
Homeworks MCP is the layer that lets AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor use your Homeworks data in conversation. When connected, your AI assistant gets a live view of your account — it can read data, run reports, create estimates, update jobs, and more.
🤖 Think of it as giving your AI assistant a carefully limited live login to your Homeworks account.
Secure sign-in (OAuth)
The handshake that connects your AI assistant to Homeworks without sharing your password. When you click Connect to Homeworks, it handles the login and issues a secure access token. Your AI assistant uses that token — not your credentials.
🚗 Think of it like a valet key — it lets the tool do specific things without giving it access to everything.
You can revoke access at any time from your Homeworks account settings.
Who has access?
Enterprise Members
Full AI assistant and API access, included in your plan. No time limit.
Growth Members
You get a 30-day trial window, starting the first time you use the connection. When your window ends, you’ll need to upgrade to Enterprise to keep access. Reach out to Customer Success before it ends if you want to discuss upgrading.
