Overview
Images and videos uploaded throughout Homeworks (and Field Force) are hosted with a direct URL that can be shared with customers, team members, or included in messages and emails.
Whether you're working from the CRM, Field Force mobile app, customer profiles, properties, visits, notes, or other areas of the platform, you can quickly copy the link to most uploaded media files without downloading them first.
When Would You Use This?
Copying a direct file link is useful when you want to:
Send a photo or video to a customer via SMS
Share media with another team member
Include a file in an email
Reference media stored in a customer, property, or visit record
Avoid uploading the same file to a third-party service
Example: A technician records a video in the Field Force mobile app and wants to send it to the customer. Instead of uploading the video to YouTube, Loom, or another platform, the team can simply copy the video link and send it through Homeworks SMS.
Copying a Link on Desktop
Locate the image or video.
Right-click the media item.
Select one of the following options, depending on your browser:
Copy Link Address
Copy Video Address
Copy Image Address
Copy Link
The direct URL is copied to your clipboard and can be pasted anywhere.
Copying a Link on Mobile
Locate the image or video.
Press and hold the media thumbnail.
Select Copy Link.
The direct URL will be copied to your device's clipboard.
Where Does This Work?
You can use this method throughout Homeworks anywhere uploaded media is displayed, including:
Customer profiles
Property records
Visits
Notes
Attachments
FieldForce activity records
Other areas that display uploaded images or videos
Best Practices
Verify the link opens correctly before sending it to a customer.
Use Homeworks SMS, email, or other communication tools to share the copied link.
Remember that browser wording may vary slightly between Chrome, Safari, Edge, and Firefox.
Note: Future updates may include dedicated copy-link buttons in more areas of the platform, but this functionality is already available today through your browser or mobile device.
