Setup Guide for Text Messaging

Updated over 3 months ago

2-way texting is only available on the Enterprise plan.

Copilot CRM offers 2-way text messaging, allowing you to communicate with customers directly from the platform.

💬 SMS availability is currently guaranteed only in the U.S., Canada, and Australia.

Step 1: Navigate to the Text Messaging Feature

You can access text messaging setup in two ways:

  • Go to Marketing > Text in the left-side menu.

  • Or click the chat bubble icon in the top-right corner of your Copilot screen.

Step 2: Enable Text Messaging

  1. If you haven’t signed up yet, you’ll see a message explaining the text messaging feature.

  2. Click Enable Text Messaging.

  3. You’ll be prompted to select an area code.

  4. Choose a texting number to associate with your account.

    • If you don’t have a preference, click Search without entering a number.

Important: Available phone numbers depend on Twilio, and your preferred area code may not always be available.

Handling Area Code Availability Issues

If Twilio doesn’t have numbers in your desired area code, you may see this error message:

“There was a problem searching for a phone number.”

To resolve this:

  • Try searching for nearby area codes.

  • Enter a new area code in the search box.

  • Click Search Phone Numbers again.

After you select a number, activation completes in about 1–2 minutes. If activation still hasn’t completed after 10 minutes, contact Support for help.
