Troubleshooting: Deleting a Payment

Updated yesterday

Overview

If you need to remove a payment from Copilot, you can do so from the Payments page.

Deleting a payment will remove it from the customer’s account and update related invoices accordingly.

Important Note

If the payment was processed through Stripe (via credit card or bank transfer), deleting or canceling it will automatically issue a refund to the customer.

Be sure you want to reverse the payment before proceeding.

Step 1: Open the Payments Page

  1. Go to Finances > Payments.

  2. Locate the payment you want to delete.

Step 2: Delete a Single Payment

  1. Find the payment you wish to remove.

  2. Click the Garbage Can icon next to that payment.

  3. A confirmation pop-up will appear asking:
“Are you sure you want to delete/cancel this payment?”

  4. Click Yes to confirm.

Once confirmed, the payment will be deleted. If the payment was processed through Stripe, it will show up as canceled both to you and in the customer's portal.

Step 3: Delete Multiple Payments at Once

If you need to delete multiple payments:

  1. On the Payments page, check the boxes to the left of each payment you want to remove.

  2. Click the red Delete button located above the payments list.

  3. A confirmation pop-up will appear asking you to confirm the deletion.

  4. Click Yes to permanently delete all selected payments.

Tip

Always double-check whether a payment was manually entered or processed through Stripe before deleting.

Deleting Stripe-processed payments triggers refunds that cannot be undone once issued.
