Overview
Document Templates in Copilot CRM let you quickly create standardized documents that can automatically populate with customer and company information.
These templates help you save time and maintain consistency when sending or printing documents.
Step 1: Open the Document Templates Page
Navigate to Marketing > Documents from the left-hand menu.
Click the Document Template tab at the top of the page.
Step 2: Create a New Template
Click + New Template.
Enter a name for your template.
Type the content of your document in the text editor.
You can include any details or formatting you want to appear on every version of this document — such as headers, body text, and signature lines.
Step 3: Add Autofill Tags
To make your templates dynamic, click the Insert Customer / Company Info button.
These tags automatically populate with real data when the document is sent or printed.
Examples:
{{CUSTOMER_NAME}}– Inserts the customer’s full name{{COMPANY_NAME}}– Inserts your company’s name{{CUSTOMER_ADDRESS}}– Inserts the customer’s address
This ensures every document feels personalized without manually updating each field.
Step 4: Save the Template
Once your document content and tags are complete, click the Create Template button to save it.
Your new template will now appear in the Templates List, ready to use when creating future documents.
