Setup Guide: Create a New Email Template

Overview

Learn how to create, name, and personalize email templates in Copilot CRM for marketing campaigns.


Step 1: Go to the Email Templates Section

  1. Navigate to Marketing > Email in the main menu.

  2. Select the Email Templates tab at the top of the page.


Step 2: Create a New Template

  1. Click Create Template.

  2. Enter a Template Name to identify your new email template.

  3. Add an Email Subject and type the Email Content in the editor.


Step 3: Personalize with Merge Tags

You can add dynamic placeholders (merge tags) that automatically fill in contact details when the email is sent.

  • Click the Merge Tags button in the text editor to view available tags.

  • Choose from options such as:

    • {{CUSTOMER_NAME}} — inserts the recipient’s name.

    • {{COMPANY_NAME}} — inserts your company’s name.

Example:
If you include {{CUSTOMER_NAME}}, it will automatically fill in the customer’s name when the email is sent.


Step 4: Save Your Template

When finished, click Create Template to save your work.

Your new template will appear in the Template List, where you can view, duplicate, or edit it on compatible platforms. Note that editing may have certain limitations based on your device.


Managing and Editing Templates

Platform Limitations for Editing Email Templates

Currently, the Copilot CRM app does not support editing email templates directly on mobile devices. This is currently restricted to the desktop version for making edits to email templates. However, a workaround would be to use the mobile browser to access the browser version of Copilot.

Working with Default Templates

The legacy/default templates are non-editable, and their names cannot be changed even when duplicated. To create a customizable version of these templates, copy the content, and create a new template with the desired name and edits.
