Troubleshooting: Not Receiving Stripe Payouts

If you aren’t receiving payouts from Stripe, it usually means Stripe needs additional information to verify your account or business.


Here’s what to check and how to resolve payout delays quickly.


Step 1: Log In to Your Stripe Account

  1. Go to stripe.com and log in to your Stripe Dashboard.

  2. Look for a red banner at the top of the screen.

    • This banner indicates that Stripe requires additional information or action before releasing payouts.

  3. Follow the instructions in the banner to update your account as requested.

Note:
Stripe only displays this banner when there’s an issue preventing payouts. This is a normal process and nothing to worry about — just follow the steps provided.


Step 2: Complete Required Verifications

As your business processes more transactions, Stripe will periodically ask for additional verification.


This ensures compliance with financial regulations and helps protect your account.

Common verification requests include:

  • ID verification (personal identity)

  • Home address verification

  • Legal entity verification

  • Business address verification

  • Bank account verification

  • Website verification

In some countries, additional requirements may also apply depending on local laws.


Step 3: Check for Stripe Emails

Stripe will also notify you by email if action is needed.


Be sure to:

  • Monitor your email inbox for messages from Stripe.

  • Check your spam or promotions folders if you haven’t received expected notifications.

  • Follow any links in official Stripe emails to complete verification directly.


Step 4: Regularly Review Your Stripe Account

Make it a habit to log in to your Stripe account periodically to confirm your payout status.


Doing so helps you:

  • Catch new verification requests early.

  • Prevent payout delays before they happen.

  • Quickly identify any issues that might affect your cash flow.


Tip

Most payout delays are resolved within minutes of completing the required verification steps.


If you’ve updated your information and are still not receiving payouts after 1–2 business days, reach out to Stripe Support directly through your dashboard for further review.
