Overview
Estimates allow you to provide customers with a detailed quote of the services or items they’re interested in before work begins. You can customize, save, and send estimates directly from Copilot.
Step 1: Open the Estimates Page
Go to Finances > Estimates.
Click the New Estimate button in the top-right corner.
This opens the New Estimate page.
Step 2: Enter Estimate Details
On the New Estimate page, you can:
Estimate Name (Optional): Give your estimate a name or title (for internal organization).
Customer: Select the customer from the dropdown list.
If the customer doesn’t exist yet, click the + button to add them.
Estimate # and Date: These fields are automatically generated but can be edited at any time.
Step 3: Add Items, Services, or Packages
Add Individual Items or Services
In the Item or Service / Description field, start typing the name of the item or service you want to include.
Select it from the list and enter the quantity and cost.
Click + Add Line to add more line items as needed.
Add Packages
Packages are groups of items or services you commonly bundle together.
To add one:
Click the Add Package button.
Select the desired package from your list.
Note: All line items on an estimate are optional by default, allowing customers to pick and choose which services they’d like to approve.
Step 4: Save the Estimate
Once you’ve added all desired items or packages, click the Save Estimate button.
Your new estimate will now appear in your Estimates list under Finances > Estimates.
Step 5: Send the Estimate to Your Customer
After saving, click the Send button at the top of the estimate. You can choose one of the following delivery methods:
Email
Regular Mail (USPS)
Text Message
Copy Link
The customer can review and approve or decline the estimate directly through their Customer Portal.
Step 6: Notifications for Accepted or Declined Estimates
When your customer accepts or declines an estimate, you’ll receive a push notification.
To ensure notifications are enabled:
Click the ⚙️ Gear icon in the top-right corner.
Go to Preferences.
Review and enable push notification settings as needed.
