Introduction
You can easily update customer details, contact information, and internal notes from the customer’s profile in Copilot. All changes save automatically, helping you keep customer records up to date.
Step 1: Open the Customer Page
From the left-hand menu, click Customers > Customers.
Locate the customer you want to edit.
Click the customer’s name or one of their properties to open their profile.
Step 2: Edit Customer Information
Once you’re on the customer’s profile, you can edit key information and manage customer-specific settings.
You can:
Update contact details such as phone numbers, addresses, and email.
Adjust tax-exempt or discount settings.
View and manage invoices, estimates, and payments.
Add tags or edit custom fields for segmentation.
Most edits are automatically saved, with no need to click a Save button unless there is a save button right next to the field.
Step 3: Add Internal Notes
To add internal notes about the customer:
Scroll to the Customer Notes box on the left-hand side of the page (about halfway down).
Type your note directly in the text box.
Click anywhere outside the box — your note will auto-save automatically.
Notes are for internal use only and not visible to customers.
You can use this section to record customer preferences, communication notes, or special instructions.
Example
You might add a note such as:
“Customer prefers Monday morning visits. Please call ahead before arriving.”
Best Practices
Regularly review and update customer profiles to ensure contact and billing information are current.
Use the Notes field for communication preferences and special requests.
Consider tagging customers by type (e.g., Residential, Commercial, VIP) for easier filtering.
