Step 1: Open the Aerial Measurements Tool
Go to Calculators > Aerial Measurements in your Copilot account.
Step 2: Select a Property
You can either:
Enter an address, or
Select an existing customer and property already in Copilot.
Step 3: Adjust Measurement Options
Before measuring, click Measurement Options to configure settings:
Units: feet, yards, meters, or acres
Decimal precision: number of decimal places for measurements and rates
Measurement color: choose a color to represent each measurement type
Step 4: Take Measurements
Area Measurements
Select what you want to measure: Buildings, Property, Area, or Custom selection.
Click to place marker points around the area.
Close the shape by connecting to the first point.
Copilot will fill in the shape and display the calculated measurement.
Distance Measurements
Select Calculate Distance.
Click two or more points on the map to measure straight-line distances.
Subtracting Areas
If you need to subtract an area (e.g., removing a building footprint from a property lot size):
Select the area to subtract.
Draw the shape inside your original measurement.
Copilot will adjust the total measurement automatically.
Step 5: Apply Rates to Measurements
You can enter a rate charge for any measurement to automatically calculate pricing.
Enter rates before or after measuring.
Copilot will multiply the area or distance by your rate to show total cost.
Step 6: Save Measurements to a Property
Click:
Save Measurements to Property (for existing properties), or
Save Measurements to New Property (for new addresses).
A green Saved message will confirm success.
Step 7: View Saved Measurements
To review saved measurements:
Go to the Customers tab.
Open the property by clicking the three dots > Edit Property.
In the Main Info section, you’ll see:
Saved areas and distances
Lot size (automatically updated with all saved building/area measurements)
