Discounts

Overview

Copilot CRM allows you to apply discounts to invoices and estimates, either at the time of creation or when editing an existing invoice/estimate. Discounts can also be set at the customer profile level to automatically apply to all future invoices and estimates for that customer.

πŸ’‘ Note: By default, the discount box at the top of the invoice or estimate will apply a percentage-based discount.

If you want to set a dollar amount discount instead:

  1. First, enter any percentage in the discount box at the top.

  2. Scroll down to the total calculation section at the bottom.

  3. Manually adjust the discount to a specific dollar amount there.

Adding a Discount to a New Invoice

  1. Navigate to Finances > Invoices.

  2. Click + New Invoice.

  3. Locate the Discount box and enter a percentage.

    1. (Optional: If you want a dollar amount discount, scroll down to the total calculation section and manually adjust the discount.)

  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Update Invoice to save.

Adding a Discount to an Existing Invoice

  1. Navigate to Finances > Invoices.

  2. Locate the invoice you want to update and click the pencil (edit) icon.

  3. Find the Discount box and enter a percentage.

    1. (Optional: Adjust the discount in the total calculation section if you prefer a dollar amount instead.)

  4. Scroll to the bottom and click Update Invoice to save the changes.

Adding a Discount to a New Estimate

  1. Navigate to Finances > Estimates.

  2. Click + New Estimate.

  3. Locate the Discount box and enter a percentage.

    1. (Optional: Scroll to the total calculation section to adjust the discount to a dollar amount.)

  4. Scroll to the bottom and click Save Estimate to apply the discount.

Adding a Discount to an Existing Estimate

  1. Navigate to Finances > Estimates.

  2. Locate the estimate you want to update and click the pencil (edit) icon.

  3. Find the Discount box and enter a percentage.

    1. (Optional: Adjust the discount in the total calculation section if you prefer a dollar amount instead.)

  4. Scroll to the bottom and click Save Estimate to update the discount.

Applying Discounts Automatically for a Customer

If you want a discount to apply automatically to all future invoices and estimates for a specific customer:

  1. Navigate to the Customer Profile.

  2. Locate the Discount % field when clicking Show More at the top.

  3. Enter the percentage you want to apply to all future invoices and estimates.

  4. Save the changes.

βœ… This is useful for offering special rates, such as lifetime discounts for charities or VIP customers.
