How to Turn Price Matrix & Job Costing On/Off
To enable or disable the Price Matrix and Job Costing features, follow these steps:
Access Settings:
Navigate to Settings > Preferences.
Enable/Disable Price Matrix & Job Costing:
Scroll to the bottom of the page.
Toggle the Show Price Matrices & Job Costing option under Advanced Features.
How to Identify Items and Services with a Price Matrix
To check if an item or service has a price matrix:
Access Items and Services:
Go to Resources > Items and Services.
Look for the Rate Matrix Box:
Each item and service name will have a Rate Matrix box below its name if it has a price matrix.
How to Edit Price Matrix for Items and Services
To edit the price matrix for an item or service:
Ensure Price Matrix & Job Costing Are Enabled:
Follow the instructions under How to Turn Price Matrix & Job Costing On/Off.
Locate the Service:
Go to Resources > Items and Services.
Find the item or service you want to edit.
Edit the Rate Matrix:
Click the pencil icon next to the item or service.
Click the Rate Matrix.
Update the necessary information.
Click Save once done.
Note:
Price matrix is only available for use under Estimates.
Unable to Edit Data Inside Grey Boxes/Fields
Grey boxes/fields are non-editable. The data displayed in these fields will auto-populate from the data entered from the item and service's rate matrix. If you need to edit the number that populates in that field, you can edit the rate matrix itself by going to Resources > Items/Services.
How to Use the Price Matrix Auto-Populate Feature
To use the price matrix auto-populate feature, consider the following:
Ensure Price Matrix Is On:
Follow the instructions under How to Turn Price Matrix & Job Costing On/Off.
Enter Rate Matrix Information:
Ensure all necessary rate matrix data is entered.
Select the Correct Custom Field:
Make sure the appropriate custom field is selected for auto-population.
How to Set Up a Price Matrix Custom Field
To set up a custom field for the price matrix:
Create a Custom Field:
Go to Resources > Custom Fields.
Select + New Field.
Enter Necessary Information:
The custom field should apply to properties.
Set the field type to either Integer or Decimal.
Integer uses whole numbers only.
Decimal utilizes decimal points.
Enable Transferable Field:
Make sure the transferable field option is enabled.
